Community Member Spotlight: Heather Worthan

Meet Heather Worthan, Content Producer at Georgia Power Community and Economic Development. When she isn’t busy creating content, you can find her most likely out on the water!

As part of our Community Member Spotlight series, we caught up with Heather about a favorite project she’s worked on, what she does in her free time, and one thing she’d tell others about Tech Square ATL Social Club.

Q: In your role, what are you responsible for?

A: I'm responsible for creating content that tells the stories of why Georgia is the best state for business! We recruit industry and support local communities as they grow. I manage social media, video creation, blogs, and I also help teach others to use those same tools and storytelling methods.

Q: What's a favorite project of yours and why?

A: I have to say the Hyundai project – our team worked very hard to create an immersive experience using projection mapping to help tell the story of the Savannah region. It was a proud moment for all of us.

Q: What's something about you that's not on your resume?

A: I'm obsessed with rivers and kayaking – I'd be on the water every day if I could.

Q: What do you enjoy doing during your time off?

A: See above – kayaking! And hiking and camping – but I also love a good TV show binge with great snacks.

Q: What's one thing you would tell people about Tech Square ATL Social Club?

A: It's really awesome to see the events and camaraderie that takes place around here – it makes you feel a connection to the other employees and students we're around all the time. The energy is so positive.

Q: What's your favorite restaurant/cafe in the Tech Square neighborhood?

A: I could eat The Halal Guys daily! I stalked the building waiting for opening day and then dragged all of my coworkers there – luckily, they love it, too.

Q: What are your social handles for those that want to get in touch?

A: Instagram: @whatever_heather
