Startup Exchange Hosts Annual Kickoff with Chris Klaus

The second of February not only celebrated Groundhog Day, nationally, but also commemorated the annual kickoff of our student partner, Startup Exchange, locally in Tech Square!

The event invited members and guests to enjoy complimentary pizza and beverages while hearing from Georgia Tech’s (GT) very own legendary startup guru and angel investor Chris Klaus, Founder of Internet Security Systems (sold to IBM for $1.3B) and Co-Founder of CyberLaunch VC, NeuroLaunch, and Kaneva.

Also co-hosted by Jennifer Whitlow (Director of Computing Enrollment and Alumni Engagement at the Georgia Institute of Technology's College of Computing), Sebastian Salinas (Program Coordinator at TiE Atlanta), and Nakia Melicio (Entrepreneur, ATDC), over 100 attendees gathered in The Clubhouse to learn more Klaus’s journey as a founder when he was just a student at GT and why many startups fail.

The evening concluded with an audience Q&A, where Klaus was very generous with his time in answering all the questions. As Startup Exchange member Carter Cote stated, “Professional advice from a billionaire GT startup is gold in this startup community.” And we couldn’t agree more!
