Blockchain at Georgia Tech Invites Students to Spring 2024 Kickoff

To entice students and local community members to learn more about one of our partners, Blockchain at Georgia Tech, we joined forces to host their Spring 2024 Kickoff at The Clubhouse in late January, showcasing the club’s recent initiatives and introducing their executive team.

The evening began with light refreshments and heavy networking, where students and leaders mixed and mingled before the presentations began. Shortly thereafter, Blockchain at Georgia Tech’s President, Ronith Yalamanchili, and Head of Operations, Trent Conley, took the stage. They introduced themselves, executive team members, and upcoming planned initiatives. 

Immediately following was a group discussion, where we uncovered that more Georgia Tech students seem to be interested in technical and engineering careers and projects in blockchain, versus research and investing endeavors. More so, hosting a biweekly or monthly meetup (alongside smaller meetings) are more desirable amongst participants. 
Of course, blockchain technology was also discussed at length. It enables the advancement to the third iteration of the internet/web: ownership. From brand loyalty programs to cyber security and data management, blockchain is advancing current verticals in a multitude of ways that will ultimately lead to better customer experiences, improved safety on the web, more avenues to financial inclusion, and a decentralization of the web away from control by a few oligopolies that can censor information. 

As made evident by attendance that evening, not only are students very interested in the industry, but blockchain and Web3 companies are also equally as invested, offering immense support for student pursuits and education initiatives.
