Community Member Spotlight: Alex Edquist
Meet Alex Edquist, Co-Founder and CEO of Good Agriculture. When she isn’t busy juggling multiple responsibilities, you can find her cheering for UGA football, trail running, orienteering, and other outdoor activities.
As part of our Community Member Spotlight series, we caught up with Alex about a favorite project she’s worked on, an interesting fact about her, what she enjoys doing during her time off, and one thing she’d tell others about Tech Square ATL.
Q: In your role, what are you responsible for?
A: Sales, fundraising, recruiting, company management, supporting our financial management, and marketing product owners.
Q: What's a favorite project of yours and why?
A: One of our first farmer customers is a regenerative farmer in Louisiana who we helped secure funding to double the size of her farm! The project with her was the inception of our financial management tool for regenerative farmers like her, who are too busy saving the environment and nourishing their community to keep up with their back offices.
Q: What's something about you that's not on your resume?
A: Even though I'm in AgTech, I have a total black thumb and have killed more gardens than I'd like to admit. Tending the office plants is NOT one of the things I'm responsible for!
Q: What do you enjoy doing during your time off?
A: UGA football (a controversial answer around here), trail running, orienteering, horseback riding, and skiing.
Q: What's one thing you would tell people about Tech Square ATL ?
A: The team who runs Tech Square ATL is amazing!
Q: What's your favorite restaurant/cafe in the Tech Square neighborhood?
A: I have to admit I bring my lunch 99 percent of the time – buying amazing local food from my customers is the best part of my job!
