Pi Day Pop-Up Turns Poetic

At Tech Square ATL (TSQATL), we’ll pretty much use any reason to host a themed event, but honoring Pi Day warranted no excuses necessary, as our community of innovators, entrepreneurs, technologists, and researchers are the perfect audience for such a celebration.

To commemorate the occasion, we popped-up in the Centergy lobby with all things Pi and pie-shaped: circle balloons, round Post-its, and even the sweet treat itself, direct from Kenny’s Great Pies – a local fan-favorite.

As the lunch crowd passed by, we asked participants to write a pi-ku in a 3-1-4 syllable structure (which is a spin on the traditional Japanese haiku, a 5-7-5 structure) in exchange for their very own personal pie!

Attendees from Home Depot, Accenture, ATDC, Wahsega, Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute, Allianz, Georgia Power, and more excitedly accepted the challenge at hand and got their creative juices flowing right away. And while the topics were mostly centered around pi(e), a few tenants got some extra attention. Not to mention, Tech Square’s very own property manager and interdisciplinary engager, Collaborative Real Estate, and their Director of Marketing and Communications, Lorin Willen (who wasn’t even in attendance!), got a special shout-out:

Collab, the best!

Hey Lorin!

Soon,

Club holograms.

In general, this was a perfect activity for all of our community members! Several of our tenants who focus on aerospace and other aviation engineering use Pi regularly. Meanwhile, others mentioned they hadn't had a chance to use the creative side of their brains recently and they enjoyed the change of pace.
