Starting the School Year with Square on Fifth
Late August means more than the (to some, early) arrival of all things pumpkin and other fall flavors. It’s also the start of a new school year (and football!). And while our recent activations have proved otherwise, the summer is typically a bit slower with the absence of students bustling around Tech Square and The Clubhouse. So, we were beyond excited to team up with local student housing, Square on Fifth (SQ5), so they could use our 9,000 square foot facility as the check-in site for new residents.
As fresh faces filed into The Clubhouse to move in, we joined fellow Tech Square ATL (TSQATL) Social Club members, Accenture, and setup shop to introduce students to the amazing access and amenities they receive while living at SQ5.
True to form and forever-curious, we spoke with the students, gauging their excitement for the upcoming semester, informing them about what TSQATL is and does, and also asking them about their future goals. Since Accenture was there promoting their internship program, we asked participants: “What’s your dream internship?”
While some people shared specific companies (with Google being the top contender!), others shared specific fields, such as engineering, software development, biology, and computer science. No surprise there was a STEM-focused theme throughout, as the Georgia Institute of Technology (GT) reported that 48 percent of undergraduate students received an engineering degree in Spring 2021.
As nearly 400 people settled into their new digs over the course of four days, we were excited that our partnership with SQ5 allowed these students to redeem a TSQATL Social Club membership completely free of charge. With access to The Clubhouse, community events, our proprietary networking database, The Weekly newsletter, and so much more, the opportunities for engagement and new connections is endless!
