Innovators Our Community Looks Up To

Every week at The Clubhouse, we pose a question on our big conversation board about what’s been on the radar for our members lately. This is designed to not only spark conversations and encourage collaboration, but to also allow us to better know our community members in a fun and unique way. Recently, we asked if you could have anyone in history be your mentor, who would it be and why?

We received multiple answers ranging from artists, entrepreneurs, concurrers, previous presidents, and activists. Each with a unique perspective of the world and a reasoning behind why they chose that particular person.

Here are a few answers we want to highlight:

Theodore.jpg

Theodore Roosevelt (who was chosen more than once) due to his vision, fortitude, and progressive reforms.

steve+jobs.jpg

Steve Jobs, who was an incredible entrepreneur, public speaker, and visionary. A community member cited that “he would be an amazing person to learn from, due to his experience and the creation of such a huge company, like Apple, because of his smart thinking and innovation.”

Malala .jpg

Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani activist known for fighting for women’s right to education and is the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. Malala was chosen because she stands up for herself and for women – no matter what.

Napoleon.jpg

Napoleon Bonaparte, who was a French military general, the first emperor of France, and one of the world's greatest military leaders. A community member would love only to ask him why he did what he did (in regards to how and why he was a master at manipulation), but also to learn about his obsession with France.

Sonia%2BDelaunay.jpg

Sonia Delaunay, Cubist artist and creator of the Cubist style, Orphism. This movement prioritized color and harmonious compositions, which has changed the standards of artwork for her time.
