Wahsega: Innovating School Communication Systems

Wahsega, a resident of Georgia Tech’s startup accelerator, the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) in Atlanta, has established itself as a leading provider of mass notification and building communication systems, or more simply, PA systems. The Carina Platform

Wahsega’s flagship product, the Carina platform is a comprehensive solution designed to enhance safety and efficiency across various environments, with a special focus on K-12 schools. The Carina system integrates multiple functionalities, including:

·         Public Address System

·         Digital Signage

·         IP Intercoms

·         Bell System

·         IoT Devices for Building Monitoring

Wahsega emphasizes the affordability of and reliability of Carina, noting that it reduces installation costs by up to 50% compared to other digital systems. Additionally, its digital nature makes it far superior to outdated analog systems that numerous K-12 schools still use. The platform is beneficial not just for K-12 schools, but also for healthcare facilities, commercial spaces, and warehouse settings where maintaining continuous communications is crucial.

Innovation & Growth

In the competitive school PA system market, Wahsega had a crucial need to stand out. During the pandemic, Wahsega launched the Carina platform with its unparalleled simplicity, allowing school principals to change the bell schedule without opening an IT ticket. Most recently, Wahsega has launched its cloud offering (at no additional cost to customers) for remote control, setting it further apart from traditional analog PA systems. This innovation has positioned Wahsega as a leader in the field, recognized as one of the fastest-growing private companies in Atlanta in 2024 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

We are honored to be named as a 2024 Pacesetter. This accolade reflects the hard work and dedication of our team, the quality of our products, and our commitment to our customers. It is a testament to the innovative spirit that drives us.

Wahsega has even expanded internationally, with distribution in South Korea. Its affordability has allowed Wahsega to grow by having a large list of clients that are lower-income area schools that were priced out of more expensive PA systems. Its cost-effective solution allows all schools to benefit from having a school-wide PA system.

With its roots in ATDC and its headquarters in Alpharetta, Georgia, Wahsega continues to drive growth and innovation, benefiting communities and ensuring that essential communication infrastructure is accessible to all.
