Spring Semester Showcase Boasts Latest Bits of Good Projects

The work being done by one of our student partners, Bits of Good (BoG), is truly one of a kind, as it spans the entire product development cycle – from understanding the non-profit needs to creating a fully functioning software solution that is handed off to the client – and is entirely run by students. To celebrate their achievements from the past semester, BoG hosted their bi-annual Demo Day and invited organization members and the greater local community to join.

Six project teams and their partners set up presentation booths inside the 9,000 square foot Clubhouse the evening of April 11, aiming to educate attendees about not only the work being done, but how BoG students are able to give back to the community while simultaneously honing their technical and professional skill sets – and create lasting connections:

  • Healing4Heroes

  • Angels Among Us

  • Helping Mamas

  • Heart of Passion

  • Southface Institute

  • Bits of Good GT Scheduler

  • Bits of Good Product Maintenance

Participants were given a “passport” to be stamped at every presentation booth they visited, encouraging them to form new connections and learn more about the solutions the BoG teams provided their non-profit and corporate partners.

From questions around the applications and software built to front-end design choices to software features and usability to tech stacking, what was made clear to all that evening was the drive and passion of the Georgia Tech (GT) students and their ability to create change, from day one, from the ground up.
