Exploring the Metaverse with Meta and GTXR
In late October, our newest student partner group, GTXR, teamed up with Meta recruiters and engineers to host an evening filled with a panel discussion, networking, and even exploring the Metaverse with virtual reality (VR) headsets at The Clubhouse.
The Showcase: Explore the Metaverse with Meta invited community members and students to learn more about what Meta is working on, future opportunities, and to experience the Metaverse firsthand!
Right away, Meta speakers Syleste Davis, University Recruiter, and Hongbing Hu, Software Engineer, took the stage with GTXR students Akash Mahesh and Aditya Shukla to join in a panel discussion. After sharing some background information about their roles and future job opportunities, they dove into deeper conversations around the current progress of virtual and mixed reality and how Meta is shaping the future of the Metaverse.
Speaking of, attendees were able to explore the Metaverse via the Meta Quest 2 VR headset. And while our Tech Square ATL (TSQATL) Social Club community members are no strangers to VR, part of the goal of the event was to allow novices to see how it feels for themselves!
