Don’t Miss Out on These Binge-Worthy Shows

Every week at The Clubhouse, we pose a question on our big conversation board about what’s been on the radar for our members lately. This is designed to not only spark conversations and encourage collaboration, but to also allow us to better know our community members in a fun and unique way. Recently, we asked what shows they are binge-watching currently.

With streaming services more popular than ever, especially after the year we all had, there are numerous options available when it comes to how you choose to digest your digital content. Whether it’s determined by the device used, or your preferred streaming platform, binge-watching television shows, documentaries, and even movies previously only shown in theaters is the new norm.

Always keeping an eye out for the next best thing (even if that’s an escape from reality!), we asked our community members to share the latest things they’re watching. We received answers ranging from a classic 90s TV show, to a childhood favorite, and a few other more recent ones, including one that is filmed right here in Georgia. Find out if these pique your interest and are worthy of binge-watching.

Let’s start off with the 90s classic, Seinfeld. The 1989 sitcom ran for nine years, with nine seasons, and 180 episodes. Sony Pictures describes the show as “A show about nothing, Seinfeld mines the humor in life's mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating.” Of course, it stars classic actors and comedians, including Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, and Jason Alexander. Moving on to the childhood favorite from the early 2000s is the one and only, Kim Possible. The animated series from The Disney Channel premiered in 2002 and ran until 2007, with four seasons, and 87 episodes. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the show is about a teen action heroine, who shows how growing up is more complicated than fighting crime. Kim Possible is available for streaming on Disney+.

The next binge-worthy show has been around since 2005, and is more on the sci-fi thriller side: Supernatural. The show has been running for 15 seasons, and its final episode was only a little bit ago – back in November 2020! The show consists of two brothers, played by Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, who hunt monsters and paranormal beings. Supernatural is available to stream on Netflix.

Now, let’s talk about more current shows. Another thriller series in the pick, The Americans consists of undercover spies during the Cold War. The series has been around since 2013 and has six seasons. Although The Americans is a FX network series, it can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

Lastly, but certainly not least, we have a drama series about a financial advisor and his family who launder money for a Mexican drug cartel: Ozark. Highly popular and set to release another season soon, this captivating series has been around since 2017 and currently consists of three seasons. It is a Netflix original and is actually filmed right here in Georgia at Lake Allatoona, Lake Lanier, and Red Top Mountain State Park. See if you recognize any of the shots by streaming Ozark on Netflix.
