Community Member Spotlight: Lorenzo Migliara
Meet Lorenzo Migliara, current Georgia Tech student. He is also Tech Square ATL (TSQATL) Social Club’s recent rocket stomp challenge winner.
As part of our Community Member Spotlight series, we caught up with Lorenzo about his current semester, his dining preferences, and what he enjoys most about being a TSQATL Social Club member.
Q: What’s one class in school you’re most excited about?
A: The class I’m most excited about for this semester has to be COE 2701, called Startup Lab. In this class you have the opportunity to create a mock startup and go through all the communications and customer outreach processes of developing your “company,” without actually having to produce a product. My team’s mock startup is an app called “MyChef,” which intends to build a community by hiring recipe scientists and amateur chefs to create a database of dietary options for the average young adult who’s learning to feed themselves for the first time living independently.
Q: What’s your favorite restaurant in Midtown?
A: My favorite restaurant has to be Papi’s Cuban & Caribbean Grill. Being from Tampa, Florida, I’m pretty well versed in Cuban food, so I was ready to be a tough critic. However, this place absolutely nailed that same flavor from home.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about Tech Square ATL Social Club?
A: My favorite thing about Tech Square ATL Social Club has to be that it offers a great environment for both individual studies and collaboration. The versatility of the space offers good areas for everything – [from] meeting with a group for a project to taking an online exam. Just setting up to study [at The Clubhouse] increases my productivity significantly. On top of this, the social club community consists of goal-oriented people, so whenever I go there, I feel driven and encouraged by this community mindset.
